The wood surface to be treated must be clean, dry and free of wax, oil and grease. Sand off old paintwork when renovating. Sand floors with 150 grit or furniture with 220 grit and dust thoroughly.
Shake well before use. Always sand and apply oil in the direction of the wood's structure.
Apply hard oil evenly and thinly with a soft brush or cotton cloth, but not too thinly.
20-30 minutes after each application, completely remove any excess oil that has not penetrated with a lint-free cloth or CLOU polishing cloth, otherwise an unevenly shiny, non-drying surface will result. Repeat application 2-3 times until the surface no longer absorbs oil.
Yield: 1 liter content is sufficient for approx. 12 m² with untreated wood.
Drying: (at 20 °C and 50 % relative humidity)
The oil is dry after a drying time of 10-12 hours (preferably overnight). Treated floors can be walked on after 2-3 days. Ensure thorough ventilation during processing and drying.
Special instructions: Used rags and tools such as brushes can tend to self-ignite, soak them in water after use and spread the rag out to dry outdoors. The product itself is not self-igniting.
The hard oil for wooden furniture and floors HARTÖL by CLOU is available in containers of 0.250 L.
