Hard-wearing, urethane alkyd based one-component lacquer with good filling properties.

Charakteristics:

Areas of Application: For sealing stairs, parquet and also for doors, wooden seating, tables and untreated cork panels. Also excellently suited for outdoor areas.

Meets the requirements of Section 35 of the Food and Consumer Goods Act (formerly DIN 53160, resistant to saliva and perspiration).

Storage: Store in well sealed original containers in a cool place protected from frost. Can be stored for 3 years in sealed original containers.

Disposal: Lacquer residues must undergo special treatment in compliance with the offical regulations. Recommended Waste Code No. according to European List of waste: 08 01 11 (a final definition must be made in coordination with the regional disposal company).

The maximum content of VOC (product category IIA/i) permitted in EU regulation 2004/42 is 600 g/l (limit 2007) in the ready-to-use state. The maximum content of CLOURETHAN® in the ready-to-use state is < 600 g/l VOC.

Safety precautions: Do not drain into the ground water or sewage system. Spray gun application should only be carried out in a water wash spray booth. Regularly remove spray sediment in order to avoid spray dust ignition. Cloths soaked in lacquer should be moistened with water and disposed of, in order to avoid self-ignition.

Caution: Used soaked cloths and tools such as brushes may ignite spontaneously. After use, let them soak in water and spread the cloths outside to dry. The product itself is not self-igniting.

Preparation: The surface of the wood must be dry and free of dirt, oil fat and sanding dust. If renovating used furniture, clean the surface carefully with EV-Thinner, sand slightly (240 grain) and remove dust.

Using/Application: (Surface temperature > 15 °C, wood humidity 8–12 %) Sand wood with 150 grain. Before use, shake CLOU Wood Sealer thoroughly.

Drying: (at 20 °C and 50% relative humidity)
After allowing to dry over night and before applying the next lacquer coat, sand with 240-280 grain and remove the dust.

Final coating: After priming the surface, allowing to dry and removing the dust, coat once or twice with 10% - 25% thinned CLOU Wood Sealer (according to application). The lacquer has oxidative drying properties, that is, dries by absorbing atmospheric oxygen. Therefore only apply a normal thickness of each coat, in order to ensure quick drying (throttle the output with the spraying method). Between the coats maintain an overnight drying time to achieve thorough drying of the entire coating.
