Characteristics: Environment-friendly, water-based, low odour, quickdrying wood protecting glaze based on acrylate dispersion. For indoor and outdoor use.

Recommended Use: For translucent decorative wood protection both indoors and outdoors, e.g. for panelling and wooden verandahs, doors, windows, shutters, garage doors, fences etc. and also for renovating old glaze coatings. To protect from blueness, mildew and rotting, treat first with CLOU AQUA Wood Protection Primer.

Cleaning: Clean all tools immediately after use with clean water or CLOU® AQUA Cleaner for water-based varnishes (especially for dried residues).

Storage/Disposal: Store in well sealed original containers in a cool place protected from frost. Leftover varnish must undergo special treatment and must be consigned to those authorized companies that collect special waste.
Recommended waste code according to the European waste directory: 08 01 12 (the final determination must be coordinated through the regional waste utility). Dried lacquer residues can be disposed of in the normal household rubbish. Can be stored for 2 years in its sealed original container.

Safety Precautions: Do not drain into the ground water, water courses or
sewage system. Even when working with less harmful paints, the usual proctective measures should be taken.

All colour shades can be mixed together for individual customized shades.

Preparation: The wood must be dry and free from dirt, oil and grease.
Wood types that are highly resinous e.g. pitch pine, should be treated with CLOU Deresinifier No. 499. Sand the surface with 180 grit and remove all dust.

Use/Application: (Surface temperature > 15 °C, residual wood moisture 8–12 %)
Thoroughly shake or stir contents before use. For brush coating use a metal-free, soft, flat brush (especially suitable are perlon brushes for water-based
varnishes). Apply two coats of AQUA CLOUsil along the wood grain evenly and without pressure and smoothly spread out any surplus. Between the two coats sand lightly with 240 grit. Parts that are strongly exposed to outdoor weathering (e.g. windows) need a third coat preferably darkly pigmented as this gives better UV protection. Endgrain and very absorbent surfaces should be treated with particular care.

Special Instructions: The colour shade “natural” should only be used on objects that are not exposed to strong weathering, as this shade is relatively low pigmented and therefore does not provide as much protection against UV rays. Not suitable for treating oak outdoors – here a thick film coating glaze should be used. The colour shade “white” should only be used on naturally light coloured wood types (spruce, maple), that is, types not containing any colouring elements. Even with ash, yellow discolouration can be caused by wood content. To protect from blueness, mildew and rotting, pre-treat with CLOU AQUA Wood Protection Primer.

AQUA CLOUsil HOLZ LASUR water varnish for exterior and interior use is available in 0.75L and 2.5L packages.
