SMALTOXYL HYDRO ECO - WATER-BASED WOOD VARNISH - VECHRO PAINTS

Ecological water-based protective and decorative low film-build varnish for interior and exterior use. Based on acrylic linkable resins, it ensures long lasting protection. Contains UV filters.

GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS:

SMALTOXYL HYDRO ECO is ecological, water based odorless protective and decorative low build stain varnish for every wooden surface indoor and outdoor. It enhances the natural value and beauty of wooden surfaces, without flaking and cracking. Due to its micro porous structure gives waterproof properties and at the same time leaves wooden surfaces to breath. Very easy maintenance and very good adhesion to old alkyd varnishes. Due to its composition and with the proper UV filters, the stain offers an effective sunlight protection as also protects the film from growth of mildew, wood rot and decay. Maintains its elasticity following wood’s movements. Minimized content of hazardous substances. Reduced volatile organic compounds (VOC’s).

TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS:

Texture: Gloss & Satin

Specific weight: 1,02-1,04 kg/lt.

Covering power: 15-20 m²/lt per layer depending on wood type.

Dilution: 5-10% on volume with water.

Drying: 1 - 2 hours touch free. Recoatability Recoatable in 4-6 hours after application. These times prolong under cold and wet weather conditions.

VOC class: “Interior/exterior trim varnishes and woodstains.” Type WB. VOC limit =130 gr/lt. Max VOC of product ready for use = 60 gr/lt. VOC: organic volatile compounds with boiling point < 250 ºC.

Shades: Gloss: Transparent-Colorless. Satin: Transparent-Colorless and readymade Shades.

The final shade depends on the natural shade of the wood, the number of layers and the absorbency of the wood.

SURFACE PREPARATION: Clean the surface of dust, oil, cropped paints, and dampness, sandpaper well. New wood should be primed with one coat of SMALTOXYL hydro Preservative for better protection against fungi and insects.

APPLICATION EQUIPMENT: Brush, roller, sponge.

APPLICATION: Stir well. Apply two coats SMALTOXYL hydro on dry and absolutely clean surfaces, always on the direction of wood grains. Soft sanding in between two coats is proposed always on the direction of wood grains.

STORAGE: Store in a cool place, protect from freezing and sun exposure. Close the can well after application to keep in good condition. Recover unused paint for re-use. 

LABELLING: Contains biocidal products [IPBC (55406-53-6)] for the preservation of the dry film. Do not dispose near surface water during or after use. Contains 3-iodo-2-propynyl butylcarbamate (IPBC), 1,2-benzisothiazol3(2H)-one (BIT), 2-Methyl-3(2H)-isothiazolone (MIT) & CIT/MIT. May produce an allergic reaction. This product has been awarded with the Eco-label, eco criteria 312/2014/ΕE product category “indoor & outdoor paints and varnishes”.

PERSONAL PROTECTION FOR THE USER: Wear working clothing, gloves and goggles in case of spray application. In case of contact with skin wash immediately with plenty of water and soap. Working places should be well ventilated. Keep out of reach of children. Contains biocidal products: IPBC (55406-53-6) for dry film preservation, ZPTH & Bronopol, for in can preservation. Do not dispose near surface water during or after use. Contains biocidal products: Contains 1,2-benzisothiazol-3(2H)-one, reaction mass of 5-chloro-2-methyl-2Hisothiazol-3-one and 2-methyl-2H-isothiazol-3-one(3:1). May produce an allergic reaction.
