Characteristics: Weather-proof wood protection glaze for outdoors giving a satin gloss, containing solvents and biocides and with high penetration power.
Complies with the VOC Decopaint Directive.

Recommended Use: For coloured lucent wood protection outdoors, e.g. for wooden verandahs, panelling for facades and gables, doors, windows, shutters, garage doors, car ports, fences, and also for renovating old glaze coatings.

Cleaning: Clean equipment immediately after use with CLOURETHAN-Thinner, CLOU EV-Thnner, Cleaning Thinner or white spirit (turpentine substitute).
Storage/Disposal: Store in a cool place. The remains of partially used containers should be filled into smaller clean vessels where possible. Not completely emptied containers and surplus cleaning material must be disposed of as special waste (hazardous waste collecting point, waste code : 03 01 12 according to the European waste directory). Completely emptied containers can be disposed of in the raw materials collecting bin. Can be stored for 5 years in original sealed containers.
Safety Advice 1: Only use in well ventilated areas. Do not inhale the vapours. Keep away from sources of ignition. Do not smoke. Water pollution class 1 (slightly water polluting).
Safety Advice 2: Wood protection agents contain biocidal active substances to protect the wood against pests. They should only be used according to the instructions and only in permitted areas. Misuse can lead to health and environmental damage. Protective gloves and safety glasses should be worn. Water pollution class: 2 (water polluting)
Pretreatment: The wood must be dry and free from dirt, oil and grease. Highly resinous wood, such as pitch pine, should be deresined with cellulose lacquer diluent. Sand the surface of the wood with 150-180 grit and remove the dust.
Using/Application: (Surface temperature > 15 °C, residual wood moisture 8–12 %). Shake or stir up contents thoroughy before use. Apply two coats of CLOUsil evenly with a soft flat brush. Equalize the surplus glaze well with the brush. This way a consistently even colouring will be achieved. Between the coats a light smooth sanding with 280 grit or sanding fleece is recommended. End pieces (end grained wood) and strongly absorbent areas should be given meticulous attention.
Special Instructions: Not suitable for oak – here a thick film coating glaze should be used. The colour shade “natural” should only be used on such objects that are not exposed to strong weathering, as this shade has only relatively weak pigmenting. The colour shade “colourless” should only be used as a primer or to make a coloured glaze lighter. Do not used on wood that has already been treated with hard gloss paints or similar. Use biocides carefully. Always read the labelling and product information before use.
